MenuAndDockless is a SIMBL plugin for Snow Leopard enabling you to choose for every native Cocoa application wether it should show the Menu bar and the Dock or not.
On smaller screens (on an 11” MacBook Air for example) this often makes much sense because you gain a lot of more free ‘space’ and it reduces possible distractions.
Since under Snow Leopard the Finder is also written in Cocoa, the MenuAndDockless plug-in also works for the Finder (just needs to be restarted once).
To use MenuAndDockless download and install SIMBL. Create following folder: /Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins
Copy or move the MenuAndDockless.bundle into this newly created folder. Restart desired applications and simply hit control+return to enable/disable it > or use Menu: Window: MenuAndDockless
Hit cmd+return to toggle the Fullscreen (if available) > or use Menu: Window: Toggle Fullscreen
